Life on the Ranch

The idyllic setting of the Ranch that visitors saw was deceiving, for it took no end of hard work and ingenuity to survive in the remote mountain wilderness that the Loomises called home. The Ranch was not developed as a resort, but as a working ranch that grew its own animals and crops for food, a place that could sustain itself through the peaceful summers and hard winters without outside support.

The stories in this section provide brief glimpses into selected aspects of life at the Ranch.
